How does the Boliday process work?
As a guest:
Search and Book
  • Search for rooms and make a booking inquiry.
  • Guest makes the payment, which is held with us until the host confirms availability.
  • Host receives your request and confirms availability.
  • The payment is executed
  • A payment code is sent to you
  • Provide the payment code to the host on arrival and you are ready to rock.
Post Auction… Get Bids… and Book
  • Post your requirements for the stay
  • Hosts receive the notifications and they place their bids
  • Review the bids and their properties
  • Choose what you like and make the payment, which is held with us until the host confirms availability.
  • The payment is executed and a payment code is sent to you
  • Provide the payment code to the host on arrival and you are ready to rock.
 
As a host:
List a Room
  • List a Room.
  • Confirm availability for the inquiries you receive.
  • Receive payment code from the guests when they check in and get the funds released.
     
Bid on Auctions
  • Search auctions for your area.
  • Place an attractive bid.
  • Place an attractive bid.
  • Receive payment code from the guests when they check in and get the funds released.
Does it cost anything to sign up?
It’s absolutely FREE to sign up and search for rooms. However, we charge a service fee from the guests which ranges between 8%-12%. The host pays the credit card transaction charges which are upto 4%
How can I make the payments?
Our payment system is simple and takes into account the security of both guests and host. The payment is held by us until the host confirms availability. On confirmation, the guests receive a payment code. The payment code is given to the host upon check in. The host claims the payment by inputting the payment code in our system.
What types of listings are available on Boliday?
We have 2 types of listings available on Boliday:
  • Room (a bed/couch in a shared space, or a bedroom)
  • Apartment (Full Apartment/House)
What is a Host Score?
Your Host Score is an objective measure of your reliability. The Hosts with the highest reputation scores are considered to be safe and hospitable hosts.
Your Host Reputation Score is the product of four core indicators:
Earning Rate — How much money a host earns per stay per month through our system within the last 12 months.
Guest Acquisition Rate — A Host’s success rate of closing a deal through our auction system.
Retention Rate — How well a host retains relationships with the guest over time and gets them to book the room through our system.
Feedback from Guest – The ratings which the guest receives based on certain parameters.

Your Guest Score is an objective measure of your reliability. The Guests with the highest reputation scores are considered to be safe guests.
Your Guest Reputation Score is the product of Two core indicators:
Spending Rate - How much money a guest spends per stay per month through our system within the last 12 months.
Feedback from Host -- The ratings which the host receives based on certain parameters.
I am a new User, won’t I be at a disadvantage?
Don’t worry, All the users who are in the system for less than 6 months are tagged prominently with a “new user” label.

You can also improve your credibility by getting your friends or acquaintances who have carried out transactions on the website and have a positive score of atleast 80% to vouch for you.
Host
Do I have to pay to list a property?
No! It’s absolutely free to list a property with us. We charge a service fee from the guests which ranges between 8%-12%. The host pays the credit card transaction charges which are upto 4%
How do I list my space on Boliday?
Click on “Post your Room” link and you will be presented with a simple form which you can fill and get your property up and running in no time.
What if I have multiple spaces that I would like to rent out?
You can add as many properties and as many rooms within those properties as you want. There is no restriction.
I have created a listing and selected days on the calendar, what next?
Find out if any of your friends is listed on the site and has made any transactions and if they have a positive score of 80% and above ask them to vouch for you. This will help improve your reliability and hence chances of getting guests.
How do I get paid?
When a booking is confirmed a payment code is sent to the guest. You have to take this payment code from the guest and enter it in the website and then we shall release the payment to you. You can receive the payment through following modes right now… Host from India – Check, ECS, Paypal Host from Rest of the World – Paypal (we are working hard to get other methods available to you soon)
Is it compulsory to host a guest upon receiving inquiry? How do I feel comfortable if it’s safe to host this guest?
No, it is not mandatory to host the guest. You can decline the request if you choose not to host the guest. We let you communicate through a Private message board to clarify any terms or conditions which either of you may have. We also prompt users to add each other in their social networking profile like facebook, myspace, orkut etc.. which gives both of the users a sense of the type of person they would meet.
How do I edit the details or availabilities of my listings or hide a listing from view?
Simply go to the “My listing” section and click on edit, show or hide to execute the desired action.
How do I cancel a booking?
In your Bookings listing section, you can click on “cancel the booking”, give a reason. This will cancel the booking and send the message to the guest. Note that there is a negative scoring in the Host Reputation score if you cancel the confirmed booking.
How do I improve the visibility of my listing?
Your ranking in a search depends upon your Host Reputation score, We recommend that you carefully go through the Host reputation score parameters and try to get them as high as possible.
Also note that a comprehensively filled listing with attention to detail and good attractive pictures increases your chances of winning a booking manifold.
My Images are not getting uploaded, what do I do?
Make sure that your images are saved as Jpg, Gif or Png. The ideal image size to be uploaded is 256 X 256 pixels.
Guest
I have received a code, what do I do with it?
This is a payment code which you must provide to the host upon check-in. The host needs this code in order to retrieve the money you paid up.
Can I pay the money partly now and partly on check in?
Unfortunately No! We require the guests to pay 100% upfront, only then a booking can be confirmed.
How do I cancel my Booking?
You should check the cancelation policy of the room you have booked, depending upon the policy you will get the refund. Simply send a message to the host through the system and it will be processed.
Can I communicate with the host before I make a booking?
Yes, you can speak to the host through our Private Message Board system.
How can I make the payment for my stay?
You can make the payment through our secure system using paypal or creditcard.
How secure is my financial transaction through Boliday?
We use 128 bit Secure layer to process the payment. We do not keep on file your credit card number thus making sure that your personal data cannot be misused.
How do I leave feedback for the host?
At the end of your stay, you will get a notification through the system to leave a feedback for the host.
